Refurbishment and Demolition Surveys
A Refurbishment or Demolition Survey is required where the premises, or part of it, need upgrading, refurbishment or demolition. This is an intrusive survey.
A Management Survey is the standard survey and its purpose is to manage ACMs during the normal occupation and use of premises.

Sampling of suspected materials as directed by the Client.
Assess your current asbestos records and record any changes to condition of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM’s).
Why is asbestos dangerous?
Asbestos is a hidden killer that can cause serious diseases. Asbestos is dangerous only when is disturbed during refurbishment or demolition works. Working on or near damaged asbestos-containing materials or breathing in high levels of asbestos fibres, can increase your chances of getting an asbestos-related diseases. These are: mesothelioma, lung cancer, asbestosis, pleural thickening. Each week approximately 20 tradesmen die from asbestos related diseases.
Where can asbestos be found?
Every building constructed before the year 2000 may still contain asbestos. Asbestos was widely used for insulation, flooring and roofing. It can be found in cement products (corrugated roof, pipes), textured coating, floor tiles, sprayed coatings (on ceiling, walls, beams), asbestos insulating boards, laggings and many more.
Asbestos - what is it?
Asbestos is naturally occuring mineral, often used in buildings. There are six main asbestos types, divided in two classess: serpentine - chrysotile (white asbestos) and amphibole - amosite (brown asbestos), crocidolite (blue asbestos), tremolite, anthophyllite and actinolite.
